Demographics from Computer Science

Yes another day in Computer Science class and you know what that means....Web Comics!!!! Yay. Actually I finished the assignment due next week already, plus we're talking about how stupid SCHEME (programming language) is. So I have decided to analyze demographics at Yale...

Follow up:

Now that I have met a fair amount of people, I have to say I am amazed by the number of Jews and private school people. My estimate is that about 1/4-1/3 people are Jewish here. Compared to the 2-5% in High School, it's a big step up.

Boarding school / Private school are also much more prominent, seems like 1/2 - 2/3 of the people attended private schools. Since we don't even really have a private school back home, this is weird. From what I gather it seems like most of the people from the East Coast or California go to private schools, and most of the people from Yale are from one of those two places. The major regions are SoCal, NoCal, Florida, Jersey, and the rest of the world. Maybe over simplified, but still. Lots of them

More importantly is the technological demographic. From what I've seen, Yale is about 75% mac users. Everyone has a mac. Which is somewhat Ironic. If you think about it one of the major selling points was the cool design of the Macs, how sleek they are, how original. But now, 75% of people share two styles of computer, silver and black. Not as cool. Even more interesting is looking around computer science class, there is 1 mac, 5 Lenovos, and 8 other computers out that I can see. Seems like CS people know the way to go.

Finally, I am thrilled to be doing photos from the first football game this weekend, I stocked up last night and I think I have 4k worth of camera equipment on me for the next day. It's cool. And i will be using a monopod for the first time.

Well the teacher is alleging that we are doing "real" computer science stuff now so I should probably listen. Till later!
