Various Things

10/22/08 | by Charlie [mail] | Categories: College, Improv Comedy, Theater, Classes

Really a variety of things going on this week in my life:

  1. Mid-terms are finally over, and I believe that I am going to pass all my classes which is fantastic.
  2. I am going to be Assistant Master Electrician on The Full Monty production here (Dramat fall mainstage)
  3. I somehow ended up being the Lighting Designer for a spring production of Equus in OBT...more on that later
  4. We have another Improv show this Friday...first on campus show. So hope that goes well!
  5. And of course, with Parents Weekend coming, this weekend will be very busy! (Football pictures soon!!!!)
  6. Speaking of pictures, buzz about Darq Knight is finally making it's way around the web. See my last post for more
  7. Finally, there is a new HDR picture up on my photoblog, I forgot to check settings before I shot, so not perfect but hope you like it nonetheless...10 pictures total so far!

As far as Equus goes, I don't actually know what the play is about other than Horse Gods...weird. But it's in the OBT which is the smallest legitimate theater, so I am hoping that I'll be able to handle it. Nervous and excited for all of this!

The workload seems to be in full swing now and I have finalized my schedule to be turned in Monday, not to mention IMs start on Friday. Things are really picking up at Yale...

Learning to Breathe

I awoke early this morning to go take pictures of a brand new elementary school opening in New Haven. I must say, it was rather impressive, certainly rivaling ELHS. I sprinted back to campus (with 30 pound backpack) for German. After which, I proceeded to go to lunch, sit in my dorm for a bit, and headed to "Consumer Culture". A very interesting and extremely work heavy class I look forward to.

After my class I ran back across town to pick up some other course materials and went on another photography run. Only now have I had time to sit down and do some work (Until my theater meeting at 4:00...Light plotting starts today!). I seemed to have finally come to terms with college life now that all these activities are in full swing. When I pulled out an article from "The Chronicle of Higher Education", however, I was surprised to find why my happiness had returned...
