Hey Charlie, I've really been enjoying these past few posts on open source software. I've always been curious about what open source meant, and you're doing a great job at explaining it (compared to wikipedia which hasn't been so helpful). These past two posts have been very enlightening. I look forward to reading the next one(s).

Also, on a separate note, is there any way you can program your website to not destroy everything I enter in the comment box if I forget to enter my name and email? The first comment I tried to submit just went on for pages about what a wonderful and smart person you are, which would have surely put you in high standing to any future employer possibly perusing your blog, but then I had to retype everything when it didn't go through, and as you can see, my heart just wasn't as much into writing this one.

You must be thinking of Ms. Fordell when working from a Stone Soup cookbook. Did you pick book for the photography or the recipes?

With a quick peak, however, I could surely live off the recipes in that book. Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately I don't know if some others in the house will let me :-). Enjoy!!!
